Description
Without colour or its equivalent, life to me would be dark, barren, a vast blackness.

Freesia
Freesia refracta
Family : Iridaceae
Although native to South Africa, this flower was named after a German
physician, Dr.Friedrich Freese, who first recorded it in Europe in 1786.
Prized for their heady scent - the white blooms have the strongest scent - there are only six species of this plant (but over 300 cultivars!).
Popular in wedding bouquets, this floral symbol means Innocence, Friendship, and Trust. It also means Faithfulness, and is the 7th anniversary flower.

The fresh colours of springtime, be they bright or pastel, are a lively reminder that a new season of beginnings has arrived, a specific revival of the spirit.
My orginal image captured in bright sunlight; uncropped .... then painted digitally, and washed with a soft texture I created from its pastel green background.
