Description
... the divine pleasures which attend a wintry fireside; candles at four o'clock, warm hearthrugs, tea, a fair tea-maker, shutters closed, curtains flowing in ample draperies to the floor, whilst the wind and rain are raging audibly without.
~ Thomas de Quincey

17th Century Recipe For Perfuming A Room
One glassful of rosewater
A pennyweight of cloves beaten to a powder
Make a pan red-hot on the fire, and put in the powder and rosewater. The mixture will evaporate little by little to provide a fragrance into the room.

Whether it is wintertime or simply a dreary, grey, drizzly day, it is contentment to sit near a cozy hearth and a warming fire, whether it is to read good book, chat with a friend, or simply sit in quiet contemplation, and reflect upon Life's pleasures. The coral hue of this rose reminded me of a fireside glow.
Taken in natural light ; Undedited; Uncropped, : Nature in all its natural splendour.

Another delicately portrayed image. I love the how the selective focus adds to it's delicate portrayal.
