Anything is possible with sunshine and a little pink.

Tulip
Genus : Tulipa spp.
Family : Liliaceae
The tulip grew wild abundantly in the central Asia mountains, in China & Mongolia, in North Africa, and later throughout Europe.
Tulips have always been special. Their designs have been found on pottery dating back to 2200 BC. Painters loved to paint the tulip. The Golden Age of Dutch painting was abundant with still life compositions of the tulip. Special tulip books were published, as were catalogues for wealthy collectors. By the 17th c., 'Tulipmania' was in full swing: a single bulb was worth the equivalent price today of a house and a garden.
And the colour pink has a special history, too. Centuries ago, children were dressed in blue because the colour was associated with the Virgin Mary. At the turn of the last century, pink emerged in clothing for children. However, blue was considered to be the softer colour, so it was used for girls, and pink - being a derivative of the energetic colour red - was for boys.
Eventually, an old legend where baby girls were born inside delicate pink roses had little girls wearing pink, which they have done until this day.

Springtime ....the season of possibilities ... the season when tulips spring into life .... captured in natural light; unedited; uncropped ... nature in all its splendour.

Another beauty from you, Connie. Spring must be gorgeous where you live. I have only been to Vancouver once and that was in August. Still, Burnaby Park was gorgeous.........Fav / like
Connie Handscomb replied:
Thank you, Jerry! It really is beautiful here during springtime ... a feast of blooms everywhere, although I noticed that in the last few years, less are being planted (municipal budget cuts, mostly). Glad you liked Burnaby, Jerry; if you were to come to visit now, I'm sure you'd be positively amazed at the changes during your absence ;))
