Artist's Description

If you are facing in the right direction, all you need to do is keep on walking.
~ Buddhist Proverb

* -------------------------------- *

Stiles are designed to allow people in the countryside to cross over from one area to another, usually fields, but to keep animals from crossing over with them, usually livestock.

There are different kinds of styles. While this one is wooden, they are not always.

This particular stile is one we come across quite often on our walks across the fields in south England. It looks to have been a popular one: the grass is well worn where the foot touches the ground. This was definitely not the road less traveled :)
