Description
Dance me to the wedding now, dance me on and on
Dance me very tenderly and dance me very long
We're both of us beneath our love, we're both of us above
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
~ Leonard Cohen [Lyrics fr.Dance Me To The End Of Love]

Lisianthus (Prairie Gentian;Texas bluebell; Tulip gentian;Lira de San Pedro)
Eustoma grandiflorum - Subspecies Lisianthus russellianus
Family : Gentianaceae
This wildflower, a favorite of bees, butterflies and birds, is native to the Southern United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, and northern South America. It is commonly found in the meadows.
Their colours are in the -ish ranges: from bluish purple, pinkish, reddish, white or white and purple, or yellowish-tinged. This creamy bloom has a soft green tinge.
In their single form, the lisanthus resembles the tulip or poppy; in its double form, it resembles a rose or peony.
A symbol of purity and the joining of two people, it is a popular wedding flower.

These delicate,trumpet-shaped flowers bloom in the summertime through to the autumn, although I have been keeping fresh supplies in my vases throughout this spring, thanks to our local florists. June is a popular month for weddings, and a little bit of baby's breath next to the lisianthus here looks ready for a bride-to-be :)
