While in Greek mythology, Arcadia was the home of Pan, god of the wild, it is not just an imaginary place of peace. In the Greek Peloponnese exists a pastoral region called Arcadia (its capital city is Tripoli), known for the innocent beauty of its people.
The showy blooms of the magnolia tree display one of the first blooms ever in existence, and while their ancient history offers us much delight and scent to appreciate in the springtime, their leaves have their own special beauty.

These are leaves of a magnolia tree found in a secluded area of a park close to home. They were just unfurling, and they looked utopian in their idyllic, newborn freshness. The refreshing, simple harmony of their colour and lines captivated me: this was subtle, amorphous poetry in the woods!
The heavy rains precluded me from capturing the blossoms of the tree this year, but I was very happy to capture this unspoiled greenery: magnolia leaves captured in natural light; the composition created of two macro images merged together ; a hint of organic grain wash; squared .... nature in all its splendour :)
