Description
Green was the silence, wet was the light,
the month of June trembled like a butterfly....

One of our favourite places to visit in England (yes, another one!) is the Polsden Lacey estate. It is not far from 'home base' in Reigate, near Dorking in the North Downs of England, near the south coast.
The rich and the royal were often guests at this home, some by a reknowned Edwardian hostess, Margaret Greville. She had done a remodelling of the house in 1906 (the first house was built on this site in 1336), and her vast collection of artworks and artefacts are all intact, and on display in the house.
The estate is large: 1,400 acres (5.6 sq km). On the grounds, amongst other things, is a walled rose garden, and several landscaped walkways with blooms aplenty. This one is against the yellow house, bright with a summer floral display.

My original image captured on a bright summer's day of some bright blooms against the grand Polesden Lacey home ..... digitally painted .
