Description
...Nature builds up her refined and invisible architecture, with a delicacy eluding our conception, yet with a symmetry and beauty which we are never weary of admiring.
~ John Herschel
* ------------------------ *
Atriums have existed in architecture since Roman times, when they were used to bring in more light and ventilation to a central room or courtyard of a home (and to also collect rainwater), and they have remained popular ever since.

Walking in the early morning sunshine, enjoying the newborn spring, I caught sight of these new leaves and stood under their canopy, quite taken with their colour and freshness against the clear blue sky. I do not know the name of this tree; when I do, I will add it in here.
It's been said that great architecture can be profoundly moving, and can stir us deeply; on this, I do agree. And Mother Nature is a great architect :)
