Description
The sense of being well-dressed gives a feeling of inward tranquility ....
~ C.F. Forbes (English writer: 1817-1911)
*------------------ *
Echeveria runyonii
Family : Crassulaceae (stonecrop)
This plant loves hot weather and sunshine. Succulents are drought tolerant; they store water in their stems, leaves, and roots so they can become quite chubby. This flowering succulent is native to Mexico and, according to Google, the Crassulaceae family originated 60-100 million years ago so they have great survival skills!
This little bud, the size of a small fingernail, is almost ready to open. When it does, it will be on a long stem hovering over the rosette, looking very much like a small, decorative, natural gemstone. If a plant was to wear a floral necklace, this would be it :)
*------------------ *
There is some grey tinge to the green stems and leaves. This image was taken in natural light against a grey background, which brought that out in an interesting way. All Undedited; Uncropped, : Nature in all its natural splendour.
