Description
Beauty is of soft whisperings. She speaks in our spirit.
Her voice yields to our silences like a faint light that quivers in fear of the shadow.
~ Kahlil Gibran

The showy blooms of the magnolia tree display one of the first blooms ever in existence, and while their ancient history offers us much delight and scent to appreciate in the springtime, their leaves have their own special beauty.
These are leaves of a magnolia tree found in a secluded area of a park close to home. They were just unfurling, and they looked utopian in their idyllic, newborn freshness. The refreshing, simple harmony of their colour and lines captivated me: this was subtle, amorphous poetry in the woods!
The heavy rains precluded me from capturing the blossoms of the tree this year, but I was very happy to capture this unspoiled greenery: magnolia leaves captured in natural light; a squared composition created of macro images merged together ..... nature in all its splendour :)

Go figure that the first image I have interest in has a KAHLIL GIBRAN quote....which happens to be my favorite poet of all time! I love the way you write in detail about your compositions...beautiful collection, Connie. I look forward to following your work! :)
