Description
These heavy, lavish gates were made by the Bromsgrove Guild for the Queen's official and main royal London home at Buckingham Palace. The guild was a company of artists and designers associated with the Arts and Crafts Movement. This iconic gate, completed in 1911, was the Guild's most famous work.
There are two symbolic statues at the gates, both from the United Kingdom royal coat of arms symbolizing Arms of Dominion: one is a lion, representing the United Kingdom; the other is a unicorn, representing Scotland.
