Description
Memory is a sifter, a shaper, a giver of form and emphasis.....if one is less concerned with reporting what one saw than with reflecting on the seeing, one can hardly say that such recollections are 'untrue'. Their peculiar value often comes from the combination of memory and imagination, those twin creative powers.
~ Madeleine Doran [fr. Something About Swans]

We are fortunate to have a few beaches close to home, within walking distance. This image was captured at one of them, on Ambleside Beach just a week or two ago, as we walked along the seawalk heading back towards home.
The sky was still alight, the beach was still active with its sand-loving residents, yet the day was coming to a close, and a subtle aura of its departure was beginning to hover over all.
So, just before the sun faded away in its entirety for the evening, I captured this image .... memories of a day well spent at the seaside that will live on even as the the sun, the sea, and the sand melted and blended together ... . slowly evaporating into a placid quietude.
