I love ferns. I feel incredibly comforted in their presence, be it in the woods or in an open valley. Perhaps it is because I am in the aura of their natural wisdom, since they existed before the dinosaurs and are amongst the oldest plants in the world.
On a Sunday afternoon walk in a favourite park, we came upon a forest of ferns, a large grouping next to some rhododendrons and clusters of forget-me-nots.
I reworked my original image, applying digital paintwork, and a variety of textures to create a painterly effect.

The painterly effect is exquisite and the colours so lush! The emphasis on the fern carries me to a tranquil and serene place deep in the woods where cool fresh air and nature abounds. LF
Connie Handscomb replied:
Yes! Yes! Exactly, Malanda! As a girl, I lived quietly & loved to walk in the cool green woods ... I can still feel the fresh moss with my little hands & sniff the earthy fragrance. Thank you so much for your understanding & wonderful support!;))
