When the tulip blooms, that is usually all we see ... our vision concentrates on the colourful bloom. This is to be expected, since the vibrant tulip is one of the world's most favourite flowers.
This wonderful bloom comes forth from, and is protected by, a thick, green foliage. My homage to that which we see, but don't see: the shapely, lithe swirl of the tulip leaf. The leaf does contain a toxic compund so pleaes do admire its gracefulness .. but please don't eat the tulips :)
