Description
Waimea Canyon is in Koke'e State Park on the island of Kaua'i , the northernmost 'green' Hawaiian Island. (It is said that Mark Twain called this the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific' ... although he apparently never visited it).
This canyon is 10 miles long, 1 mile wide and more than 3,600 feet deep. Or converted into metric: 16km long, 1.6km wide and over 1097.3 metres deep.
There was no filter used when this was taken, so there is a slight haze in the far reaches of the valley; the shadows from the clouds overhead & the canyon walls provide an interesting contrast.

Tremendous picture. Your eye wanders through each turn in the canyon. The contrast between the green of the folage and the earth tones of the canyon walls make this very appealing.
Connie Handscomb replied:
Anyone with a penchant for panorama image taking will love it here ... it is Very Grand ; thank you Norman :)))
