There are several varieties of lilies in the world, and one thing they all have in common are their distinctive stamens. Whether they are arcing gracefully or rising upright, they are often a focal point of the bloom, on prominent display for pollinator attraction. (Lily pollen easily stains whatever it touches, and is very difficult to remove - if not impossible - so take care with your special items!).
Needlepoint has existed for thousands of years. The Egyptian pharoah Tutankhamen (King Tut) lived around 1500 BCE; needlepoint was found in the cave of his tomb.
True needlepoint is woven on a vertical loom, and in Mother Nature's garden, this lily's pollen-laden stamens are an original artwork exhibit.
Captured in natural sunlight; unedited ... nature in all its splendour :)
