As softly green

Oh the Shamrock, the green immortal Shamrock
~ Thomas Moore

Shamrock (Common Wood Sorrel; Lucky Clover)
Oxalis acetosella;Oxalis regnelli;Oxalis griffithii
Oxalis tetraphylla (American version : White Clover)
Family : Oxalidaceae
A shamrock is a sprig of young clover. Traditionally, the shamrock was used by St. Patrick in Ireland in the 5th century, introducing the Irish to Christianity, with three leaves representing the Holy Trinity. Since St. Patrick is Ireland's patron saint, the shamrock became the symbol of Ireland.
The flowers open up in sunny weather, and close in late afternoon/early evening. They will also close if rain is imminent, and they curve downward to protect themselves from the damp.
There are about 900 species of Shamrock (oxalis) growing in throughout the world.
Some folklore: once upon a time, people feared faery folk. So, in Ireland, it is said a four-leaf clover carried in your right pocket will protect you against any faery spell. Irish brides include the shamrock in their bouquets. Also, a four-leaved clover was said to have been brought out of the Garden of Eden by Eve: the leaves represent faith, hope, love and luck.

Captured in natural light, these tiny blooms look somewhat coy as they wait patiently for the sun to arrive so they might lift their wee heads to enjoy the rays.
