Gerbera (African Daisy)
Family : Compositae/Asteraceae (Daisy)
Originating from South Africa, the bright and cheery gerbera is one of the most popular cut flowers in the world. Although he didn't discover the plant, the German botanist Traugott Gerber has the distinction of having his name attached to this bloom. It is a perennial plant that likes the sun, and one that birds, bees and butterflies are attracted to. It grows in a multitude of colours.
Symbolically, this flowers stands for innocence, purity and cheerfulness, as well as beauty.
The gerbera comes in a variety of forms.
