Description
There are as many possible paths to the Grail as there are roads to Rome, and every one of them is valid ....
~ John Matthews [fr. At The Table Of The Grail]

The day we walked from Boscastle on the Cornish coast to the medieval Norman fortification, Tintagel Castle, was a happy one for us. My long-running fascination with the legends of King Arthur was going to be satisfied with a trek to his birthplace.
I dressed up as prettily as I could for this momentous occasion, and began the 5-mile journey across the spectacular green countryside, abloom with wildflowers, over the hills and rocky cliffs.
The remaining structure ruins indicate to archaeologists that while it was Arthur that brought it the most fame, it predates the king. This used to be an important stronghold on the coast/
This is one memory of the coastline that is Cornwall, and the birthplace of the legendary King Arthur: looking through a break in the ancient castle structure out to sea. This was the gate tower - the entrance - to the castle; or, rather, the gate tower had fallen into the sea a long time ago, but this wall entrance where it had originally been still exists, and serves the same purpose.
