Leopard's Bane
Dorinicum alumnae; Arnica montana; wolf's bane; mountain tobacco; mountain arnica ; mountain daisy
Family : Asteraceae (Compositae)
* --------------------- *
This happy, friendly member of the sunflower (daisy) family loves sun and warmth. It can be found in many parts of the world, including Southeastern Europe, Western Asia, and North America - it grows wild in the mountainous regions of Canada and Europe. It can grow quite tall, to a height of 30-60cm (1-2 ft).
The herb Arnica montana is famous as a remedy; it has been used medicinally for centuries as an anti-inflammatory, aches and bruises (St. Hildegard wrote about its healing properties in the 12th century), as a direutic, a stimulant, for seasickness, epilepsy, hair growth, and many other uses. It is one of the most commonly used substances in homeopathy.
The leaves and roots can be smoked.

This pretty herb begins to flower in the springtime, and since spring time is prom time, I toned the image to provide it with memories of feminine youthful exuberance - of young love flourishing - of timeless, carefree, nostalgia.
Captured in natural light ..... my original macro image squared; toned in retro 1950s pastels , with the organic aesthetics of a light grain wash ... nature in all its romantic splendour :)

This image certainly does live up to the description you gave of the title "Prom Queen." I couldn't say it any better than what you expressed, took the words right out of mouth. LV/FV Janet
