Description
There is a little cottage
On a cliff beside the sea,
And the cottage has a kitchen
Where sometimes we have our tea;
And the kitchen has a mantelpiece
With such a clutter all along,
Photographs, letters and seaweed
And a clock that's always wrong.
~ Margaret W. Tarrant

Immersed in the waves of the amethyst coloured petals of the iris, I noticed a seahorse afloat just along one fine edge ... captured in the sunlight, unaltered ; Uncropped, : Nature in all its natural splendour.
* -----------------------*
One of the many symbols of this fish is contentment, for the seahorse is a calm, peaceful creature happy to have remained in its same form since its inception (Did you know? : birth to its species - one of nature's quirks is that it is the female of this species that impregnates the male; it is the male that gives birth to this species).
The amethyst is a crystal quartz found in shades of purple, lilac or mauve. It is a powerful healing stone of protection. In many cultures, it is considered a sacred stone. Tibetans, for instance, make prayer beads from it to pray to the Buddha. It is also a symbol of royalty, and is used to decorate English regalia.
The Iris is part of the Iridaceae family, named after the Greek goddess Iris, which means Rainbow - wherever she went, a rainbow followed her. The graceful, showy blooms blooms offer plenty of landing room for pollinators, with veins acting as guides on the landing strip.

I am so in love of this image. That purple and a tint of magenta...classic work. Love how the patterns and details scatter thru image. Top notch work! Congrats Connie

This is so beautiful Connie - I love these kind of images that are created in camera - with the extremely shallow depth of field. Just lovely - and yes, I do see the sea horse :)
