Anemone
Anemone coronaria (poppy anemone)
Family : Ranunculaceae
There are several species of anemones, which bloom from spring through until the autumn.
The anemone was known as the Daughter Of The Wind because it was believed the wind was responsible for the flowers opening.

While this looks a little bit like a field poppy, the Flanders poppy, it is not; it is a poppy anemone.
Remembrance Day honours the official end of WWI on November 11, 1918, and since this day of tribute is just around the corner, those brave ones who departed this world during that war came to mind.
