Description
Cornwall is very primeval: great, black, jutting cliffs and rocks, like the original darkness, and a pale sea breaking in, like dawn. It is like the beginning of the world, wonderful ...
~ D H Lawrence, Letter 1916

Walking the rugged, rolling coastal cliffs near Boscastle on the coast of Cornwall, capturing the varying lush greens of the hillside, and the abundance of wildflowers in the area. The climate in this beautiful area is quite mild and warm, and Cornwall is home to many rare flower species.
The red crocosmia blooms are profuse on the Cornish coast; while native to South Africa, it has naturalized itself here. Another common sight is the red cardinal and red poppy.

Love the landscape here, glad you took the time to make the hike. Me, I'd probably tumble right into the water.

Great spring shot Connie....tourists often miss this since they usually don't travel in this period...how much they miss (like me) :-))
Connie Handscomb replied:
Actually, Michel... it's high summertime .. this was taken in the month of August. And you're right, tourists would often miss this type of scene not so much because of the season but because they would have to trek a few miles over very rugged coast to experience it this way ... (I likened the walk to boot camp, which I have never done but imagine it to be quite rigourous!) ;))

Connie Handscomb replied:
Ah yes, Oregon is also lush and green... ; thank you for taking a walk along the Cornish coast with me, my friend ;))
