Description
Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.
~ Kahlil Gibran

Tulip
Genus : Tulipa spp.
Family : Liliaceae
In 1630, one single bulb was exchanged for:
2 wheat loads, 4 rye loads, 4 fat oxen, 8 fat pigs, 12 fat sheep, 2 bogsheads of wine, 4 barrels of beer, 2 barrels of butter, 1,000 lbs. of cheese, a bed, a suit of clothes, and a silver beaker.
Variegated tulips mean 'beautiful eyes'.
* ---------------------------------- *
With the dark background, this regal tulip looked like she just might be the sovereign of the tulip field: slim, sleek, elegant, commanding attention. She commanded mine .... captured in natural light; unedited ..... squared .... Nature in all its splendour :)

Beautiful close up photo of a tulip with great natural light and shadows, dof, soft textures and colors, and perspective, Connie! F/L
