Description
The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao; the name that can be named is not the eternal name. The Nameless is the origin of Heaven and Earth; the Named is the mother of all things.
~ Lao Tzu

The Tao (Dao) is an ancient Chinese philosophy and religion which grew out of various religious and philosophical traditions, and which loosely translates to mean The Way: the fundamental essence of the universe, an intuitive knowing of Life, the concept that the underlying natural order of the Universe is evident in being alive. The Tao Te Ching, has an extremely long history of thousands of years. Over time, it made its way from China to other countries.
One of the most important symbols of Taoism is the yin yang: yin is negative, dark, and feminine; yang is positive, bright, and masculine. The opposite forces together are complementary, interconnected, and interdependent, and together their interaction maintains the harmony of the universe.
Taoism promotes achieving harmony or union with nature. The relationship between yin and yang is often described in terms of sunlight playing over a mountain and a valley.

This macro image was taken after a rainfall. It is a raindrop on a leaf. With the dark background behind it, the reflection in the raindrop brought the Yin Yang symbol immediately to my mind.
Taken in natural light, uncropped ... with its exposure adjusted to compensate for the darkness of the sullen day.

What a great title, Connie. This is incredible.. the water dropp being so especially round, that is unusual and the way you get the yin-yang into the ball just makes the title perfect. I'm not sure what it is on, but almost feels like rolling hills even though I know it is something much tinier. Beautiful, Connie! :-) Maggie
Connie Handscomb replied:
Thank you so much, Maggie! I have captured several round raindrops .... maybe that is because we blessed with much rain here, Lol, so, doesn't seem that unusual to me, although others have commented as you have {the description, Maggie: it is on a leaf; I did not arrange anything ... it just Happened that way} ; hope your snow is melting over your way :)))
