Description
Silently, one by one, in the infinite meadows of Heaven,
Blossom the lovely stars, the forget-me-nots of the angels.
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow [fr. Evangeline]

Forget-Me-Nots (Myosotis)
Myosotis arvensis; myosotis scorpiodes
Family : Boraginaceae
This legendary flower is a favorite of many, perhaps because it has the lovely attribute of symbolizing faithfulness and enduring love : don't forget me.
It is found in cool soils, often near water. It is not always a blue colour; sometims it blooms in mauve or pink, but whatever the colour of its petals, its centrepiece is always smiling in bright yellow. The flowers unfurl, apparently, like a scorpion's tail - the sting of which this flower is said to cure.

The appeal of this small, delicate wildflower is great for me, its delicate grace a pleasure to view.
Captured in a wooded area in natural light; uncropped .... nature in all its uplifting splendour :)

This is gorgeous, Connie. By time my Macro lens arrived the Forget-Me-Nots had stepped out of their festive garb. This image does their beauty justice. lf
Connie Handscomb replied:
Thank you, I'ina; from what I can see, while I've been away, your macro lens arrived & you're doing splendidly with it! .. & these pretty blues don their festive garb every year, so not to worry :)

Wonderfully exquisite, elegant and delicate. Some paint with brushes, you paint with your expert photographic art. :-)
