Description
I could not tell you if I loved you the first moment I saw you, or if it was the second or third or fourth. But I remember the first moment I looked at you walking toward me and realized that somehow the rest of the world seemed to vanish when I was with you.
~ Cassandra Clare [fr. Clockwork Prince]

The rose originated in Persia, and comes from one of the oldest known perennial shrubs. There are 10,000+ worldwide.
Roses are equated with romance, peace, and fulfillment. The white rose is the oldest rose, and in Arabic legend, all roses were originally white. During the 20th Century, the white rose has been a symbol of peace.
The world's oldest living rose bush is thought to be 1000 years old: rosa canina (dog rose).
To dream of roses is a good sign: there will be good fortune, and/or there will be love.
The rose is associated with beauty and with the goddess of Love, Venus.

What does a bee see when it hovers within the depths of the rose petals? I imagine it would be something like this .... a soft cozy place to gather refreshments, to feel safe and at peace, perhaps even to slumber. This is a lovely, fragrant sanctuary .... a place to vanish from the rest of the world for a while.
Captured in natural light on an evening by the sea .... nature in all its splendour :)

Sometimes I would like to vanish for a while. I have been off the "tread mill" for three and a half years now, painting and enjoying the freedom from the rat race, yet getting older is full of challenges for both Janet and I as time races by. Just taking a break from everything now and then can be and is a good thing now and then. Always very nice to explore what's new from Connie, enjoy her marvelous images and wonderfully informative descriptions, just to take a break now and then !.....fav / like
