Roses are equated with romance, peace, and fulfillment. The white rose is the oldest rose, and in Arabic legend, all roses were originally white. During the 20th Century, the white rose has been a symbol of peace.
The world's oldest living rose bush is thought to be 1000 years old: rosa canina (dog rose).

Sometimes I would like to vanish for a while. I have been off the "tread mill" for three and a half years now, painting and enjoying the freedom from the rat race, yet getting older is full of challenges for both Janet and I as time races by. Just taking a break from everything now and then can be and is a good thing now and then.
