Description
Gather the rose of love whilst yet is time.
~ Edmund Spenser
* ----------------------- *
The rose originated in Persia, and comes from one of the oldest known perennial shrubs. There are 10,000+ worldwide.
Roses are equated with romance, peace, and fulfillment.
The world's oldest living rose bush is thought to be 1000 years old: rosa canina (dog rose).
To dream of roses is a good sign: there will be good fortune, and/or there will be love.
The rose is associated with beauty and with the goddess of Love, Venus.

This image was not of my roses. It was captured at a seaside allotment garden in our neighbourhood. Whenever I walk by when these roses are in bloom, I must stop and indulge in their fragrance .... they are the most beautiful scented roses in the world, I am so convinced!
A personal small treasure I have is a small heartshaped glass bottle with rose petals I have saved from someone most dear to my heart. Time might fade memories a little bit; for the most part, like love, the petals never fade completely, and the bottle of petals reminds me of some of the happiest moments of my life.
My original image captured in natural light .... with a slight vintage tone ... memories of love.
