Hi Connie... I like your image. Wow, this is wonderful. Beautifully thought out and beautifully photographed...Cheers Bob fv

Connie Handscomb replied:

Bob, Venice is beautiful although the summertime is very crowded with tourists! We spoil ourselves when we travel {ok, well yes, that's because of me; I'm not a backpacker} & had a beautiful hotel next to San Marcos Square. Definitely worth a visit, & Florian's, too ... for happy memories :) {thank you for your kind words; yes, I did think a lot about how I would present this, & your appreciation made it all worthwhile} Cheers!

Connie, every so often, one of us captures a slice of life and layers it with another so neatly that it resonates with many others. You've done that here (judging by the many who've already commented), by superimposing Jacques Larue's "Cherry Pink & Apple Blossom White" over the bass player's white shirt at Piazza an Marco's Caffe Florian--so movingly (and lastingly) that it raises the bar for all of us. A splendid accomplishment!

Connie Handscomb replied:

Your words ... only found by me now ... have raised my spirits enormously, Joseph {if not the bar , lol.. } ; thank you so very much for your thoughtful comment & kind support :))

In the main square of Venice, in the Piazza San Marco, there is a world famous restaurant called the Caffe Florian. It is named after Floriano Francesconi.

Casonova frequented here (apparently because it was the only caffe to serve women at that time). While there is food here, that is not the main reason one comes here: it is for the Atmosphere .. and for the coffee - The Caffe Florian is the oldest coffee house in Italy - and the luxurious atmosphere o...
