Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness!
Close bosom friend of the maturing sun .....

These cones were captured on the wooden bridge over a creek in a local park nearby after a rainfall. Pines, spruces, firs, cedars, larches all belong to the Pine Family of tree. While my memory does not serve to remember now exactly which type of tree was dropping its cones onto the bridge railing, this may belong to the cypress tree family. Cypress tree family cones are ridged and fused, rather than overlapping bracts. If there is someone more knowledgeable in this area than myself, let me know & I will happily update this description.
Captured in natural light; uncropped; unedited ... nature in all its splendour.
