Just think of all those women on the Titanic who said, "No, thank you," to dessert that night. And for what!

Common Field Poppy (Flanders poppy; red poppy; coquelito; wild corn poppy)
Papaver rhoeas
Nothing about the common field poppy is narcotic. (It is the Asian species Papaver somniferum where opium comes from by cutting & tipping the juice from the unripe seed heads; the dry seeds are entirely edible, & are the poppy seeds we like to use in baking). The common poppy seeds are used in baking but are less flavorful than the Asian species.
The poppy is popular worldwide. The red poppy is common in Britain; it is a symbol of remembrance (and the flower of Norfolk and Essex). It is also found on Egyptian tomb paintings. In Persia, it is known as the flower of love. Sacred to Aphrodite & Ceres, it is said the Roman goddess Ceres - the Earth, or agricultural goddess - had poppies in one hand: the poppies are meant to symbolize fruitfulness, or abundant crops. The equivalent Greek goddess was called Demeter.

An eclair is a type of pastry often filled with cream, and topped with an icing. It originated in France during the 19th century and has remained a popular dessert ever since.
This macro image of the interior of a red poppy looks like a wonderfully enticing sweet confection. Captured in natural light, unedited, uncropped ... nature in all its splendour.

The Gospel Of Chocolate : In the beginning, God created the world. Then, God said, "Let there be chocolate; and there was chocolate. God saw that chocolate was good. He then separated night from day, dark chocolate from milk chocolate. On the seventh day God rested and had a chocolate party.
