There is much in Cuba that takes one back to an earlier time. The cars in Havana are primarily vintage American 1950's,some 1940's ...{& the odd Lada} .. the majority of which still have their original parts. They are kept in pristine working order and, if a part is unavailable, an alternate mechanism is utilized to keep the auto in running order. Many have been repainted in vivid colours that we might not consider using here yet so attractive there, one wants to hop right in for a ride.
Enjoying the view from the hotel room at the Parque Central, looking across the park to the Capitol, I peeked at the taxis lined up below, ready for hire. This was one of them: dare devil delicious.
