Description
Hans Jenny, the founder of cymatics, the study of wave forms, lends support to the theory that vibrations give form to the material world. When sound waves are introduced to various material substances - water, alcohol, pastes, oils, etc. - they create symmetrical patterns with uniform characteristics. Rhythm shapes matter ... the pulse of life ....
~ Layne Redmond [fr.When The Drummers Were Women]

Laurel
Laurus nobilis (bay laurel, sweet bay, bay tree, true laurel,Grecian laurel)
Laurus nobilis Augustifolia (Bay Willow; willow leaf bay)
Family : Lauraceae
In ancient Greece and Rome, wreaths of laurel were indicative that something was of the highest status, of victory. The Latin 'laureate' means crowned with laurels.
This aromatic evergreen tree (or large shrub) native to the Mediterranean is now found in many places of the world. At one time, large parts of Europe had large forests of bay tress.
There are several species of laurel. The leaves can be harvested any time of year, to be used as a kitchen herb, as an astringent, for healing burns and bruises. The berries are used in liqueurs and in perfumes.
