Summertime … who doesn’t enjoy indulging in a soda on a hot summer’s day!

Add a dash of ice cream to the beverage, and your taste buds will swoon with delight.

But who invented the soda? Answer: Joseph Priestley, an Englishman who created carbonated water in the mid-1700’s. We know it today as club soda. In its early days, it was considered to have healing powers, and was sold in pharmacies. Once it became a part of American culture, soda fountains became popular - initially, also within a pharmacy.

This was an ice cream soda. Before indulging, the drink was photographed. The table and the background were dark, almost black .... so, some pastel digital artistry was applied …… and Presto! the empty glasses beside it also magically disappeared. Enjoy! :)
