The kind of life is most happy which affords us most opportunities of gaining our own esteem ... To strive with difficulties, and to conquer them, is the highest human felicity.

There is much in Cuba that takes one back to an earlier time.
The cars in Havana are primarily vintage American 1950's,some 1940's ...{& the odd Lada} .. the majority of which still have their original parts. They are kept in pristine working order and, if a part is unavailable, an alternate mechanism is utilized to keep the auto in running order.
Many have been repainted (and repainted, some countless times) in vivid colours that we might not consider using here yet so attractive there, one wants to hop right in for a ride.
A quick capture in the bright sunshine .... a snippet of colourful Havana.

This shot is just so lovely, Connie! I hate to date myself, but I remember those cars, with beautiful style and chrome jobs!

Awesome, love the colour on the 55 Buick. Recently watched a show called "Cuban Chrome" highlighting their necessity and skill for preserving older cars. LF

Connie, this photo really tells the story, nicely done. I think it's not factory paint (haha) on this old '55 Buick.

Ha, fun capture, Connie! I love the color scheme...not only do we not see purple paint jobs on our cars in America these days, but we no longer see two-tone cars at all, which used to be very common back in the day. L/F
