When tulips come up in the springtime, we light up inside with joy: they truly are a welcome sight! They are a colour palette in the garden, with so many variations and colours offered by these bright blooms. We see the colours more than we see the shadows; in fact, we are often so entranced with the colours of the items themselves, we do not see the shadows at all. Still, where there is light, there will always be shadow giving form and substance to the object.
My original floral image digitally painted .... with the sunlight backlighting the red petals, highlighting the shadows.
