I was searching for this bright and cheery image in my Cuba file a few times over, wondering why I could not find it. [My tagging system falls lax at times]. Ah ... lo and behold, there it was .... in Italy!
This colourful porch was captured from a boat as we moved slowly along Lake Como. When hot sun beats down somewhat unmercifully during the day, structures like these are wonderful to shield one's self from the hot rays.
Their design is functional as well as attractive; for instance, ground floor windows really are at ground level, with shutters, to maximize air flow in the hot climate.
This cheery building was so pretty, I couldn't resist its capture. ;)
