Our Sakura Festivals are a marvelous sight in the springtime. Vancouver all in bloom is truly a heavenly. There are city streets, blocks upon blocks, festooned with blossoming cherry trees sometimes stretching far as the eye can see.
This year was a particularly good stretch of time to view their showy floral displays, as the rains weren't as prominent as they often are this time of year. [While it wasn't as wet as it usually is, the chill made up for it this year with unseasonably cool temperatures .... which didn't seem to bother the cherry trees at all.] We explored areas of the city we had not seen before in the spring season, and witnessed some really spectacular neighbourhoods in eye-catching displays of bloom.
These magnificent cherry trees were captured in a harbour front area of downtown Vancouver, which I then painted digitally to provide a painterly effect to the image.

Oh super! If you liked the autumn colours here, Gary, you’ll really love springtime! Mind you, we had a pretty dry spring to really enjoy all the tree blossoms ; there’s usually a fair bit of rain. Plums in Feb; magnolias Mar-Apr;cherry Apr-May;apple etc etc [rhodos & azaleas currently …it’s quite heavenly w blooms. More importantly: Thank you so much for appreciating what I’ve done here ;)🍃
