Tulip
Genus : Tulipa spp.
Family : Liliaceae
In 1630, one single bulb was exchanged for:
2 wheat loads, 4 rye loads, 4 fat oxen, 8 fat pigs, 12 fat sheep, 2 bogsheads of wine, 4 barrels of beer, 2 barrels of butter, 1,000 lbs. of cheese, a bed, a suit of clothes, and a silver beaker.
While we no longer have to triple the mortgages on our homes to fill our vases with tulips, or our gardens with bright olour in the springtime, this classic floral will always be precious to flower lovers all over the world.
These tulips were captured indoors on a January afternoon when I was impatient for spring. The soft, indoor light provided a retro, vintage look to these blooms. Uncropped, unedited - nature in all its splendour:)

A perfect tulip image dear Connie. The exposure is perfect leaving all the nice detail on the tulip petals. :-) I am impressed.. very! ;-) FV
