Description
"Asleep beside the splashing water, let it say secrets into you".

The tulip [Genus : Tulipa spp. Family : Liliaceae] grew wild abundantly in the central Asia mountains, in China & Mongolia, in North Africa, and later throughout Europe. Tulip designs have been found on pottery dating back to 2200 BC. So, while one might tend to think of Netherlands as home of the tulip, it was actually first cultivated in Turkey, grown in the palace gardens of the sultans, and is in fact the national flower of Hungary, Turkey & the "Tulip state" Kyrgyzstan.
It was highly prized: in the 17th century, a single bulb was worth the equivalent price today of a house and a garden. Fortunately today, we can indulge in this floral pleasure without having to second mortgage any properties!
* ------------------------- *
These pretty yellow tulips were planted in a circular ring around a fountain, which allowed me to capture some of the water falling in the background. The morning sun provided some backlighting; the shadows provide some ambience to the bloom's shape.
Captured in natural light; unedited; uncropped ... nature in all its splendour :)
