Description
Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place.
~Iain S. Thomas [fr. I Wrote This For You]

Japanese anemone (windflower; thimbleweed)
Japonica hupehensis
Family : Ranunculaceae
The Japanese anemone begins its bloom in the late summertime. It is native to China, and was discovered there in 1844. It was taken to England when Japanese gardens came into vogue. They have since naturalized there, and it is from which most garden hybrids are bred. It has been naturalized in Japan for hundreds of years. It can be found on cool, open slopes in North America, and in Europe.

Cotton candy has been in existence for a long time; a form of candy floss goes back to 15th century Italy. And while today, it is a popular treat commonly enjoyed at fairs and carnivals, in times past, it was only the European aristocracy that indulged.
No need for me to travel across the ocean to experience floral spun sugar and air: closer to hand is this cashmere soft, pink bloom ... captured in the early summer sunlight; nature unedited ... in all its splendour.
