Description
There is no such thing as loss, really, there is only remembering.

Wintergreen (partridge berry; tea berry; chequerberry)
Gaultheria procumbens
This wee shrub grows no higher than six inches off the ground, but its colourful display of red berries after its flowering lets you know it is there. It can be found growing wild in the woodlands.
Wintergreen has many uses, some of which include: tonics which are made from these berries, teas and flavourings made from the leaves and external topical applications for arthritis.
Folklore has it that these berries provide a firewall from negativity, and having this plant will bring joy to your life.

* ---------------*
This was my wintergreen (berry) before it left me unexpectedly for that great garden in the sky. It had never caught on properly; perhaps that was because I had put it in a pot to use as groundcover and it didn't like its imposed confinement. One day another will replace it when I feel ready to give it another go.
Meantime, its image remains: captured in natural light; unedited; uncropped - Nature in all is splendour.
