There are many species of poppy. Some are red, some are orange, some are yellow ... & there are those in-between. This floral has been found on Egyptian tomb paintings. In Persia, the poppy is known as the flower of love. The Romans used it as a symbol of fruitfulness and abundance.
It is not just a pretty bloom: the various species offer up medicinal and culinary uses as well.
This poppy is offering up visual enjoyment :)
